Biografía
Rosario del Pilar Diaz Garavito is a young activist and the Founder and Executive Director of The Millennials Movement, a youth lead organization, that delivers actions in 16 countries in the Latin American and Caribbean region. The organization aims to engage young citizens and stakeholders in the sustainable development process of their communities, promoting active citizenship and supporting their transition from public policies beneficiaries to change makers. Through our innovative “molecular” and “GloCal” approaches, we deliver capacity building initiatives, interventions in the territories, participatory processes and provide networking opportunities that open spaces for young citizens and social actors.
Pilar Diaz Garavito is a member of the Youth Advisory Board Member for the UN Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights and Silatech for the initiative Education About All. Currently she serves as Elected Focal Point for the Children, Adolescent and Youth Group of the Latin American and the Caribbean Civil Society Participation Mechanism MesCLAC / MGCY, for the formal review of the 2030 Agenda at the United Nations. Pilar Diaz Garavito is an Alumni for the LAC Women Empower Program 2022- 2023 of the Ban Ki Moon Center.
In 2019, Pilar Diaz Garavito was awarded as Obama Foundation Scholar 2019-2020, graduating from the Master´s Program on International Development and Policy at the University of Chicago. Her work has been recognized by the Vice Presidency of Peru, the Regional Coordinator of the UN System in Peru, The United Nations Millennium Campaign, AIESEC International with the Leader for Peace Award.
